A
native of New York where she completed her high school education
at Mount Vernon high school and attended the New York University
in New York.
As
English major in school she has always had a God-given talent for
art. She began painting in high school but really became inspired
after she left college and accepted a position at the Museum of
Modern Art in New York. Over the intervening years she has dabbled
with various attempts at painting landscapes and seascape scenes
taken from photographs of actual locations.
The
artist has always had a special feeling for our nation's legendary
American Lighthouses and became inspired by spending time at the
coast of North Carolina and Maine. The almost 300-year-old era of
lighthouses in this country are the remaining symbols of our maritime
heritage and should be celebrated. With this in mind, Roz's specialty
is painting lighthouses.
Her
work indeed depicts the classical perspective of the old master.
Most of Roz's works are produced in oils. Her paintings display
vivid detail with such dedication that often drives her to spend
all day on one painting perfecting even the smallest details.
In
2006 her lighthouse paintings began being especially reproduced
in full color, transformed to note cards and retailed in the local
gift shops in Maine.
In
2005, the United Arts Council of North Carolina presented a display
of her painting and over 20 pieces of her works was shown and many
of them purchased during that year.
In
2004 during the research and further development of RozArt, she
began teaching workshops at A.C. Moore Arts and Craft, a local craft
store in North Carolina. The classes offered an introduction to
the fundamentals to a variety of painting techniques in oils, watercolors
and acrylics to children and beginners.
Roz
is pleased for the recognition for the value of her work and gives
God all the praise and glory for her talent and open doors of opportunities.
